According to the authorities on Tuesday, Ms. Sochana Seth, the CEO and creator of an artificial intelligence business in Bangalore, killed her four-year-old son in their North Goa condominium and then made an attempt at suicide.

With her son’s lifeless body in a suitcase, the 39-year-old entrepreneur was detained on Monday while taking a taxi to Bangalore. After her return to Goa, she was detained by the police for six days by a local court.

According to preliminary findings, Sochana, the CEO of Mindful AI Labs, killed her son in a room at the service apartment in Candolim, where they had been residing since January 6.

Although the suspect told the authorities that she and her spouse were divorced and that divorce processes were in progress, the motivations for this horrible act are still unclear.

The startling finding was made when the apartment’s housekeeping staff noticed bloodstains on the bedsheet in the room where the mother and her son had spent the night before. They notified the Calangute police right away.

“She had asked the staff at the hotel to arrange for a taxi to take her to Bangalore. When the hotel staff cleaned the room after check-out, they discovered red streaks, which she thought looked like blood. The

Staff notified the police right away,” stated North Goa Superintendent of Police Nidhin Walson.

After speaking with the taxi driver, who was taking Sochana to Bangalore, the police told him to take the woman to the local police station.

“The bloodstains found on a bedsheet in the service apartment were due to her cutting her child’s finger nails,” a police officer was quoted by PTI.

Sochana is currently being prosecuted under the Goa Children’s Act, IPC Sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing the loss of evidence).

According to a police spokesman, “The murder’s motivations are still unclear. The suspect is being held by the police for six days, during which time we will question her in-depth.”

Sochana is originally from West Bengal and currently lives in Bangalore; her spouse is from Kerala and is currently residing in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Her master’s degree in plasma physics from Calcutta University, with an emphasis on astrophysics, is in hand.

Sochana was listed as one of the top 100 exceptional women in AI ethics for 2021, according to sources.
